Eczema (syn. atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema) accounts for the largest global burden of disability due to skin disease (1) . Eczema affects up to 20% of children (1) , and is associated with impaired quality of life (QoL) of a similar magnitude to cancer and epilepsy.
